Assessment on nutrient levels in the aerial biomass of irrigated guava in São Francisco Valley, Brazil Rev. Bras. Frutic.
Maia,Joselanne Luiza Trajano; Bassoi,Luis Henrique; Silva,Davi José; Lima,Maria Auxiliadora Coelho de; Assis,Joston Simão de; Morais,Patricia Lígia Dantas de.
In perennial crops, fertilizers are applied to restore the amount of nutrient removed from the plant by harvesting. Nevertheless, the immobilized nutrient inside the whole plant should be considered. Based on it, the nutrient concentrations in the guava leaf and fruit and the nutrient contents removed by fruits and post-harvest pruning were evaluated in an irrigated orchard, in Petrolina, State of Pernambuco, Brazil. The greatest contents removed by fruits were N and K among the macronutrients, while Fe, Zn and Mn presented higher levels among the micronutrients. More than 60% of the total content of N, P, K, Mg, Fe, and B removed by pruning were immobilized in the leaf and non-marketable fruit.

Chemical composition of Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil. under different management conditions in seven localities of Paraná State BABT
Reissmann,Carlos Bruno; Radomski,Maria Izabel; Quadros,Ruth Maria Bianchini de.
Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil. (erva-mate), the mate tea, is a forest tree whose natural distribution in the Brazilian territory embraces the States of Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. Its economical importance is moreover related to tea production. The purpose of this study is to characterize the leaf chemical composition in relation to different plantation and management conditions. Chemical analysis were performed on plants of different ages,in naturally occurring areas, planted stands, and seedbeds. The most remarkable elements observed in the study were P with average values ranging from 0,5 - 3,2 g kg-1 D.W., Mn values from 346 - 3.330 mg kg-1 D.W., and Al values from 167 - 1.235 mg kg-1 D.W.

DRIS: concepts and applications on nutritional diagnosis in fruit crops Scientia Agricola
Mourão Filho,Francisco de Assis Alves.
Nutrition and fertilization are important factors in determining fruit yield and fruit quality. There are several methods for plant nutritional status diagnosis, among them, two are relevant and named as Sufficiency Range Approach (SRA) and Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System (DRIS). This research reports the main concepts and applications of DRIS in nutritional diagnosis of fruit crops, comparing it with current nutritional diagnosis methods, indicating advantages and disadvantages, and possible limitations to be investigated.

Grape yield, and must compounds of 'Cabernet Sauvignon' grapevine in sandy soil with potassium contents increasing Ciência Rural
Ciotta,Marlise Nara; Ceretta,Carlos Alberto; Silva,Lincon Oliveira Stefanello da; Ferreira,Paulo Ademar Avelar; Sautter,Claudia Kaehler; Couto,Rafael da Rosa; Brunetto,Gustavo.
ABSTRACT: Content of exchangeable potassium (K) in t soil may influence on its content in grapevines leaves, grape yield, as well as, in must composition. The study aimed to assess the interference of exchangeable K content in the soil on its leaf content, production and must composition of 'Cabernet Sauvignon' cultivar. In September 2011, in Santana do Livramento (RS) five vineyards with increasing levels of exchangeable K in the soil were selected. In the 2012/13 and 2013/14 harvests, the grape yield, yield components, total K content in the leaves in full bloom and berries veraison were evaluated. Values of total soluble sugar (TSS), pH, total titratable acidity (TTA), total polyphenols and anthocyanins were evaluated in the must. Exchangeable K content...

Identification of ‘Prata anã’ banana leaf to diagnose the level of phosphorus sufficiency Rev. Bras. Frutic.
Silva,José Tadeu Alves da; Rodrigues,Maria Geralda Vilela.
Abstract The aim of this study was to identify the leaf and its part with greater sensitivity to detect P variation in the ‘Prata anã’ banana plant. The experiment was carried out in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, in a clayey Oxisol. A randomized complete block design was used, with six P doses (0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 g family-1 year-1 of P2O5) and four replications. In the plants beginning the emission of the bunch in the first, second and third cycle of the banana tree, the 3rd and the 7th leaves were collected from the apex, from where 10 cm of the center of the limbs were removed, eliminating the midrib, 10 cm of the petiole and 10 cm from the midrib and 10 cm from the 1 leaf limbs. The midrib of the third leaf showed greater sensitivity to detect...

Tomato fertigation with dairy cattle wastewater Horticultura Brasileira
Jorge,Marcos F; Pinho,Camila F; Nascentes,Alexandre L; Alves,Dinara G; Almeida,Gilda V; Silva,Jonathas BG; Silva,Leonardo DB.
ABSTRACT The use of wastewater in the fertigation of agricultural crops increases productivity and product quality, and contributes to reduce environmental pollution. In this work, the objective was to evaluate how the use of dairy cattle wastewater (DCWW) in the fertigation of tomatoes affected production and productivity, as well as foliar nutritional contents, in an organic farming system. Treatments consisted of six nitrogen doses (0, 50, 100, 200, 300 and 400%), having N recommendation for tomato (100 kg/ha) as reference, applied using DCWW via fertigation. DCWW is made up of washing water, urine, feces and milk. Stem diameter, branch length, weekly fruit yield per plant and aggregate productivity were evaluated. N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, Cu, Mn, Fe, Zn and...
